Overview of Power BI Introduction

This course is aimed at anyone involved with designing, creating and publishing a Power BI Business Intelligence solution. It will provide you with the foundational Power BI training that you need to build powerful power BI reports and business Insights. The course covers the loading and transforming of source data, the building of a tabular data model that provides a collection of related tables of data offering common hierarchies and measures used in the day to day analytics of business data and performance. It also shows you how to create reports, to publish datasets and reports to PowerBI.com, create sashboards presenting key visualisations for business insights, and the sharing of dashboards and reports to those that need them. Power BI employs the functionality of Power Query, Power Pivot and Power View behind the scenes, making it familiar to those who have used Excel's equivalent add-ins. This course is also suitable for those who intend to use the individual components as Excel Add Ins. This course is also a suitable prelude to our Introduction to DAX course, but you may wish to consider some follow on workshops working with your own data and considering how your new Power BI skills can be applied in your own challenging environments.
