Case history - Example (1)
Our client, a publisher of financial information, had many stand alone FileMaker databases, as well as data in other formats, supporting the separate sales processes of different departments running organised events and selling subscriptions to financial magazines. They called in Transmedia to overhaul these disparate systems and as a result, now have a streamlined relational database with a single client structure and the ability to service event attendance, advertising sales and subscription sales, all from a single interface, with the capability to accept and publish information from and to multiple websites, seamlessly.

Another client is a large provider of contracted domestic services. This company also had a considerable existing investment in FileMaker Pro, logging thousands of repair and maintenance jobs per month and assigning skilled operatives to tasks on an ad-hoc basis. Calling in Transmedia provided relief to an overstretched IT department, and under their supervision, Transmedia added an important new module to the system, which integrated operatives’ skillsets, diaries and operating areas, to enable the instant assignment of tradespeople, with the right skills, at the right time and in the right place. Efficiency improvements were such that man hours equivalent to two full time positions have been saved.

Case history - Example (1)
A well known large telecommunications company chose Transmedia to deliver twenty individual learning modules, which had to be designed, storyboarded, created, tested and refined all within a period of twelve days. Transmedia provided a web-based method of delivery, with a data capture capability and an instant re-testing option. The results of all tests were passed to an existing SAP system so that the company’s Personnel Department was able to update staff records automatically. The finished materials were warmly received by staff and the project was completed with two days to spare. The technologies used included HTML, XML, .NET and Adobe Authorware.
Case history - Example (2)
Our clients in this case were a team of six people from different departments within the MOD, who needed to repurpose existing static HTML web pages for dynamic sites. Transmedia was called in to consider automated ways of reading data into a database, sending automatic emails via ASP to let staff know about updates and then allowing users with sufficient privileges to read and edit that data through a web interface to a remotely managed SQL Server. We also showed the team how to use other web technologies such as JavaScript to create a richer interface that allowed client-side validation of the data to enforce data integrity. Additionally, the same data was used to create automated RSS feeds so that information was “pushed” to the users' desktops, and provision also made for other web services so that users of tools including Flash, Cold Fusion, PHP and FileMaker Pro, could manipulate information using custom built interfaces with which they were comfortable.
